Kayla Dayne Almekhlafi, MPH
Health Equity Research Assistant, DNA Global Kayla Diane Almekhlafi is a Health Equity Research Assistant with DNA Global. She has strong qualitative data analysis skills, conducting literature reviews and translating data and science for action by developing innovative infographics and data visualization techniques. She is assisting with several research and evaluation projects examining mental health disparities by gender, culture, age and class, including ADHD among women, personality disorders and suicides, developing guidebooks for health departments, and writing papers for publication. She possesses a diverse skill set and a demonstrated commitment to improving community health outcomes, especially for vulnerable populations. Kayla's research on personality disorders and suicidality underscores her dedication to addressing mental health disparities, and she is enthusiastic about contributing her skills to this crucial field. Prior, she worked at a nonprofit and Sioux Falls Health Department developing research and manuals on mental health prevention and capacity building. She has an MPH and a Bachelor's in Psychology and is currently pursuing her PhD at RUSH University through DNA. In her spare time, Kayla practices mindfulness, enjoys walks and travel, and explores historical sites and diverse cultures. She splits her time between South Dakota and Dubai. |
