Senior Research Associate Rochelle Collins, Ph.D., received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from San Jose State University and worked with DNA for a few years. Since then, she has received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has been working in the field of Youth and Family Services for over 25 years. Her areas of expertise include Substance Use Disorder Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment; the Criminal Justice System; Mental Health Counseling; Community Advocacy; Crisis Intervention; and Strengthening the Family. |
Dr. Collins currently works as the Program Director for Project Eden, A Program of Horizon Services, Inc. Project Eden is an adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Outpatient Treatment Program in Hayward. It specializes in working with youth and families who struggle with problems related to alcohol and other drug use/abuse. Project Eden works with youth, families, and the community in Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Hayward, and parts of Union City. Project Eden also has the only LGBTQ Youth Substance Abuse Intervention Program in Alameda County. Project Eden/Lambda Youth Project hosts the Annual Gay Prom, which has been in existence for 20 years.
In her spare time, Rochelle likes to garden, volunteer, and spend time with family and friends. She also likes attending outdoor festivals, plays, concerts, and long rides to historical destinations.
